Wonmanog Kennels is a family run business that is centered on providing a positive, relaxing, and beneficial experience for your pet during its stay with us. Our vast experience and knowledge working with, and caring for, dogs allows us to manage your pet in a way that will help to create a comfortable and safe atmosphere for them while staying with us. Our staff of dog behavior specialists has nearly 100 years of combined experience and we use this experience to promote a quiet and peaceful atmosphere of positive energy which is essential to creating happy and healthy guests. Through our decades-worth of experience, we have found that socialization through monitored outdoor group exercising sessions is a fundamental component to promoting a truly comfortable environment for your pet. These sessions provide not only the daily exercise that all pets need, but also the opportunity for interaction between your pet, our staff, and the other pets staying with us. This interaction is essential to instilling a sense of security and ease in an environment that is removed from the familiarity of a pet's own home.
How do I make a boarding or daycare reservation for my pet(s)?
To begin the process, please give us a call so that we can discuss your dog's individual behavior and needs, and inform you of our personality requirements. Wonmanog Kennels prefers first time boarding dogs come in for assessment by means of participation in a day of our "Doggie Daycare" before their boarding stay. The goal is to have your pet become familiar with our staff and routine, while we evaluate what exercise-group sessions will best fit your dog. We will provide you with updates both mid-morning as well as the end of the day on your dog's behavior and level of enjoyment in our numerous play sessions, as well as two indoor breaks, that comprise our Daycare schedule. It is very important to us that your dog is comfortable and relaxed while visiting Wonmanog, and that all new dogs add to the positive energy that is the basis for the overall well being of all our guests. Ideally, at least two to three weeks lead time prior to your scheduled boarding stay is best in order to have ample time for this process. Your dog's behavior during these evaluation sessions will help guide us in determining the routine which works best for their particular acclimation and maximized enjoyment of their visit with us.
How do I decide which care package is the right fit for my pet(s)?
At Wonmanog Kennels, we take the guesswork out of selecting from 'tiered' or 'a la carte' level of care options for your furry friend's stay with us. Since the very beginning, Wonmanog has always offered only ONE 'level' of care for all of our guests - and that level is the very BEST! All dogs take part in a minimum of FIVE 1-hour monitored outdoor group sessions per day. These numerous sessions take place beginning at 6:30 AM and ending at 9:00 PM - with an eye toward the daily weather patterns - so that our guests receive a full day's worth of monitored exercise in the most optimal and pleasant outdoor conditions. And unlike other Kennels which either do not offer or charge additionally for "outdoor play time" - these sessions are INCLUDED in our rates resulting in the best value for your money!
What items do I need to bring along with my pet(s) for their stay at Wonmanog?
We strive to make your experience entrusting your furry friend's care to Wonmanog Kennels as low maintenance and stress-free as possible. We provide everything your pet(s) will need during their stay with us. All bedding, exercise, food and treats are provided and INCLUDED in our daily rate. Note: we feed a premium all-natural chicken-based food to our guests and we have found that it translates well to a broad range of diets. If your pet(s) require a more specialized diet, you are welcome to bring food along (enough to cover the stay and packaged for individual meals if possible) and our staff will be happy to accommodate those dietary needs.
What documentation does Wonmanog Kennels require for my pet(s)?
All dogs staying with us must be current on their Rabies, Distemper (DA2PPC) and Bordatella vaccines. Please bring documentation from their veterinary provider which notes the dates these vaccines were administered. State law also requires that all dogs be licensed in Pennsylvania. Please ensure that your pet(s) have their license tags on their collar or bring along documentation noting their current license number(s).
